The modern conservatory is said to be a place that provides extra living space enhanced by the presence of plants. Sadly what tends to happen is that little consideration is given to providing an environment that will enable the plants to thrive which leaves the conservatory simply as an home extension rather than a place to accommodate plants. Glenda is clearly on the side of the plants using her conservatory as a place to grow and enjoy plants as opposed to providing a comfortable furnished sun room for herself. It is of interest to note that Glenda has only recently acquired a conservatory having previously has to use whatever suitable space her house could provide. This meant adopting sunny window sills and any brightly lit or shaded areas the plants would enjoy. There were and still are occasions when places in the house are rearranged solely for the benefit of the plants.
